PRESS RELEASE: “US Air Carrier Announces Flights To Rum Cay Bahamas To Serve Celebrity Property Owners”
Ft. Lauderdale, FL – November 06, 2009
LocAir, a south Florida US Air Carrier today announced flights to Rum Cay, Bahamas from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida up to four times per week and additional flights added as needed based on demand.
The airline announced that Rum Cay will be regularly scheduled as part of its current round trip flights to Long Island which depart from Ft. Lauderdale in the morning on Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays on a weekly basis returning back to Ft. Lauderdale each night with times to be determined on a seasonal basis.
Upon Customs and Immigration approval from the Bahamian Government Locair will fly directly to Rum Cay from Ft. Lauderdale. Regularly scheduled flight services to be provided will be on board Metro airplanes. The airline will assign two planes for this route: One combination aircraft seats 9 passengers with cargo and the other which seats 18 passengers and cargo depending on the particular passenger load for that regularly scheduled flight.
When approval is obtained from The Bahamas Government Locair announced that it will immediately commence the flight service to serve The Paradise Is Mine company which has provided lots to numerous AList Celebrities including Ludacris, Usain Bolt, Clyde Drexler, Roy Jones, Carl Lewis, Dominique Wilkins and others.
These flights will also provide the citizens of Rum Cay and the Southern Family Islands direct access to the United States significantly saving them time and money. This flight service is expected to immediately benefit the residents of Rum Cay and Long Island. We are very excited to partner with The Paradise Is Mine Company, Turnberry Realty and Sunshine Realty. Turnberry Realty is assisting The Ministry of Tourism to provide marketing support to assist Sunshine Realty to sell Rum Cay properties which is expected to bring a tremendous boom to this island.
In the future the company plans to add larger turbo prop planes and jet class aircraft when the availability of fuel and ground crew service in Rum Cay is available and when future demand dictates.
This effort was spearheaded by Billy Davis, a Rum Cay resident and Ex Pat, who has been largely responsible for the development and creation of market awareness for Rum Cay over the past 25 years. “My goal”, states Davis, “is to increase the financial well being of Rum Cay, Long Island and all of the Southern Family islands. I will not stop until this is achieved come hell or high water.”
Rum Cay has been designated a Port of Entry for The Bahamas by the Bahamian Government. The citizens of Rum Cay are eagerly anticipating the full support of the Ministry of Immigration in providing personnel for this endeavor. This is anticipated to have a significant and immediate economic impact on the citizens of the island.
This news precedes soon to be announced news from Paradise Is Mine detailing an impending relationship with an undisclosed airline from New York City which intends to provide regular flight service to Rum Cay as well.
